If I delete example1080p.mkv and replace it with example720p.mkv Kodi still shows 1080p instead of 720p. Vice versa as well! Even though I did a "library clean" in between which was successful... the movie did disappear before adding the alternative file.
How to solve this issue?
The tags for the video entry will be updated when you play the new video.
Play the video, stop it after a second and re-check the tags.
This will only work if the filenames of both versions are identical.
