Can we hope to have google drive as a source ?

if you want to use the addon as source then you should use RCLONE instead

Thank you, but I am using Kodi from an android tv and I am not sure how to install Rclone on it
Hey all,

I have a question about how the addon checks for "watching for changes".  How does it store that information, because when I move a Kodi profile to a new device, it seems to go through the entire library checking for changes on the new device, when it had already done so previously on the other device.

That wouldn't be an issue, but I have over 20,000 files and it literally takes 3 days to complete.

Cheers,
Ken

Hey again,

I think I may have figured out the issue.  Google Drive uses the timestamp, likely the created date/time.  Therefore any new machine that I move the kodi profile to will have created date of the current day on all the strm files...   That is my issue.
So, either I modify the google drive db file, to the current date for all files, or I find a way to backup the video strm file directory while preserving the created/modified dates...

Cheers,
Ken
Ok so I have a few workarounds that now work, but now I have a new question lol.

When the Google Drive add-on 'watches cloud drive changes' on a particular Export folder, it seems to utterly consume all the system resources of my Android device.  I am using an H96 Pro+ with 3Gb RAM, and an AMLogix S912 chipset.  Not a slow device by any means, but gets totally bogged down when the Google drive is polling for changes.  By this I mean, navigating through menus is excruciatingly slow and it's impossible to get any videos to play.  And if I try to navigate around too much, it eventually runs out of steam and freezes,

However, if I just leave the google Drive to finish 'watching changes' it is fine.  However, since my library is so big, sometimes it takes over 2 days to complete.

@cguZZMan  Is there any way that the add-on can be set to use less resources (specifically CPU and RAM) while it is 'watching Cloud folder for changes'?  Maybe restrict the number of cores it uses or something?

Cheers,
Ken
Hi, I'm trying to play a Google Drive video stream via a link via Addons

but the old model doesn't work anymore

Example: plugin://plugin.video.gdrive?mode=streamURL&url=https://drive.google.com/file/d/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/view?usp=sharing

Hello everyone, since the upgrade to Matrix 19.2 (android TV) unable to access any file.  Confused
Hey, I'm busted out as well with the 100% buffering lock ups. Same system for 2+ years but something has changed. I reinstalled, I upgraded to 19.2 but nothing is working. I've transitioned over to Apple TV infuse 7.2 pro with google drive.

I hate apple but I had to do it.

Good luck with Kodi
I am getting this when opening the page fro qr reader:

Is there any significance in your post relating to Kodi..? The URLs you used do not convince me.
Hello, add on google drive no longer works with Kodo 19.2. I'm surprised it doesn't seem to bother anyone. I hesitate to revert to version 19.1. However, if the developer isn't considering a fix, it would be nice to say so.

My guess, your Android device has been updated to Kodi 19.
If you are using Kodi 19 and Google drive then you need to disable http2, because it's enabled by default.
Google Drive doesn't work ok with http2.

That's not something related with Kodi only, Google Drive in general doesn't like http2.
For example if you mount your Google Drive in Windows, linux, Mac with rclone, rclone warns you NOT to enable http2 for Google Drive.
http2 ih Google Drive causes exactly what you are experiencing, the stream to stop in about a minute and any attempt to seek the stream makes Kodi to freeze.

Create an advancedsettings.xml
and add on it

true :

<advancedsettings>
  <network>
    <disablehttp2>true</disablehttp2>
  </network>
</advancedsettings>

For more information

2.9.4 network
 <disablehttp2>false</disablehttp2> <!-- Added in v19- Allows disabling HTTP2 for broken Curl / HTTP2 servers -->
