NextPVR is the only live TV system I've used with Kodi and has worked well until recently. I posted a comment indicating how my wife has been frustrated with the live TV performance under Krypton (arbitrary freezes while watching) and that she switched over to Jarvis which did not exhibit the problem.

A comment in the forum (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=324674) stated that the NextPVR addon is not a good choice for viewing live TV in Kodi.

I don't understand the technical details of how a PVR add-on works and would appreciate any feedback anyone can provide.

That's not what I said. I said if you expect close to set top box behaviour NextPVR is not the best choice because it delegates streaming functions to generic code.
If I may quote you:"Addons like NextPVR delegate the entire handling of the stream to generic functions that are not optimized for playback of TV streams. Each layer provides APIs for addons to hook in. VNSI and tv headend hook into a layer where they can meet your expextations much better".
All I want is a reliable, stable live TV viewing experience with Kodi. You've done a yeoman's job writing the video player code. Whether your code is contributing to the problem I'm experiencing or it's NextPVR fault, I don't care. I just want a solution to the problem.
