I started with Kodi 17.6 on a new, clean amlogic box (Android 7.1 running an a53 + Mali 450MP3 GPU). It will see the DLNA Mezzmo server running on my windows 10 (v1703) machine, but I am unable to connect to my Win 10 Shares, and Kodi won't add files via DLNA to a library it seems. I know that before the creators update, my other devices (WDTV) were able to see shares, but the creators update has messed up the master browser and that is persistent still. The other Kodi anomaly I noticed is that it miss reports the resolution. SPMC (current version) reports the resolution of 1080p properly.
When trying to add an SMB share I get the "Connection time out" error or the "error 2" one. Things I tried thus far:
The shares on my windows 10 machine have permissions set on them (ie a special local account with read access) and the android box is connected via Ethernet.
-> Add network SMB using IP
-> Add network SMB using IP:445
-> Uninstall Kodi 17.6, install v 16.1 then upgrade to 17.6 (some said this worked for them)
-> Force Netbios over IP
-> Enable IPV6 stack on the network card for my win10 box
-> Ensure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is enabled (SMB Direct for v3.0 disabled)
->Tried other vid app like Archos\VLC\ES Explorer, it connects to the DLNA and or SMB without issue
-> Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache = 1
-> Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size = 3
-> Create Registry key IRPStackSize set size....
As a frame of reference, the current version of SPMC will not add or see SMB shares for me either, nor will it see my DLNA Mezzmo server (only have this in place for the WDTV since Win10's creators update messed up master browsing)
All this is making me look at sticking with the simplicity of my WDTV's. :-)
