Is there any DVB backend at all who I can tell from Kodi to scan for channels and arrange them afterwards?
Maybe TvHeadend?
I have no experience with it (yet), but it has a configuration addon within Kodi.
There is a setup script for TVHeadend, look under the TV Headend threads. it is a full setup script that can interface with the the TVHeadend backend.

I don't think you can scan via the kodi interface with tvh, you scan via a webpage. there is an addon, https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/9184-t...interface/ but I don't know if you can scan from it.

you can sort channels via Kodi though.
@bubblegum57 hate to contradict someone, but you can:

Here is a script that does just that here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=317841

and if you want schedules direct, which is by the same dev, here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=317893

I wanted to edit these into my previous post but you beat me!!

EDIT: oops - different forum same script. Sorry Sad

I don't mind you contradicting me if I'm wrong. I couldn't remember, I just scan via the webpage. But, as you know, it will update now & again anyway.
I remember as a new user looking at the webpage, and it looked overly complicated, so I can appreciate why someone would want to do it via Kodi, although the setup script via the webpage is better.  But as you said, once done, can be left alone.

@DexterF on Libreelec, TVheadend can be installed via their repository, then just install the scripts, I think they're third party, so will have to be installed via zips, like @bubblegum57 can't remember, which probably shows you that once you can sit and leave it, although looks complex, once done, leave it. Either way on scanning it does the job.
I have just looked at my backend, I have the tvh2kodi addon already installed.   Smile
