Hi,

I have an issue with kodi 17 and my shield.

I have a 4K tv with nice upscalling, so I have set Kodi to 4k60 to 1080p BUT i don't have refresh choice over 30hz... I can only choose a range beetween 24.97 and 30hz.

I don't understand where is the problem, I can get 4k60 but not 1080p60. It's annoying because the GUI is like laggy in 30hz.

Thanks for the help
Post your Debug Log - as no one can help you without it.
Set Android itself to 4k and you'll have options above 30Hz.

However then 1080p will have a max of 30Hz.
Complain to nvidia

 No, it doesnt work.
I have android itself to 4k60, when I launch kodi it's switch in 1080p and 30hz, 60hz not possible :/

And why complain to nvidia? The shield can be set to 1080p60 directly, it's just kodi who doesn't.
my debug log:

https://paste.ubuntu.com/26326964/

I have change resolution 1080p->4k->1080p + 25hz->30hz.

thanks
Firmware bug :-)

You don't have to lecture me on how it works. Also that is EXACTLY what i told you. Now go complain to NVIDIA
i have no issues on my shield tv with kodi changing to 1080. by any chance did you set the resolution in kodi itself to 1080? if so this is why you cant get 1080 at 60Hz. kodi does not show that rate as an option when the shield is set to 4k 10 bit at 4-2-0 just change the resolution of ui in kodi itself to 4k then problems all solved...

yes I set the resolution in kodi itself to 1080 and my shield is set to 4k 10bit 420.

I don't want to change the resolution in kodi because i want my tv to do the upscalling.

edit: Ok you were right, if I stay in 10b420 i can't choose 1080p60hz in kodi, but if i set the shield in 4k 12b422, i can choose 1080p60hz in kodi.... It's ok to use 12b422?
IMO it look better at 10 bit 4-2-0 than it does at 12 bit 4-2-2
ok, so i'm stuck to 1080p30hz for the GUI Sad
