Hi. I'm facing an issue with my Kodi 17.6 installation on Mint 18.3 where in Kodi is unable to connect to the internet. This is a desktop machine which is connected via Ethernet and has working internet connection. I tried installation a few addons and also trying to use TMDB to update my library, but none of them work. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

The Kodi logs are available at the below link:

Hello, welcome aboard.

I cannot see that you try and load an addon in that log.

When you scrape your movies, it searches for 10 Cloverfield Lane (lines 577 on) and then you start hammering on the keyboard or remote (line 583 on), and there is no more sign of scanning.

Could you try again, and leave it for a while?

BTW thank you for correctly posting a debug log on your first post.

Thanks for the response. Normally, the scanning is fast enough, but it takes lots of time to move for 1 movie. Line 583 is the result of my impatience after waiting for some time. Also, isn't the scan suppose to switch to the background while one can muck around in the UI ? Do you think me hammering on the keys is stopping the scan?
Here's another log wherein I tried to install the Universal Movie Scrapper plugin, which didn't install and then tried to do the Library Update. This time I left it alone for close to 4+ mins before extracting the log. The same issue persists.

EDIT, you beat me to it, I'll take a look.

Frankly I am not sure what caused it to stop.

There was 4 seconds between when scanning started (572) and line 583 where you started on the input. The scanning just seemed to disappear at that point. Maybe coincidence of course, but humour me and do it again, go have a cup of tea/beer/wine and see what happens. Then post the new log.

Yes you should be able to get around in the GUI while scanning, I am just trying to simplify things.
Can someone please help with this issue?
Just a hunch.  Do you have UFW installed in Mint?  If you are unsure open the terminal and run this comnmand....

Code:
sudo ufw disable

I am only saying this as my mate had a similar problem on an Ubuntu Netbook and in his case removing UFW sorted it.
Did you find a solution to your problem? I have a similar problem, see https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=328889
