Auto frame-rate is broken in latest arm nightly of 20180127.
When I use 20180124 arm nightly then auto frame-rate switching is working again on my Android tv box.

Anyone else that can also test the latest nightly and see if they have problems?

I'll try to post a log later.
There are 2 20180127 nightlies, kodi-20180127-e1e969b8  & kodi-20180127-4798f3e1 which one are you referring to.

I can't say anything about the later, but with the first frame rate switching is working normally.

If you are having issues you need to supply a Debug log (wiki).

It was working correctly in this Kodi kodi-20180124-4130255f-master-armeabi-v7a
Only 720p is reported in that log.
Would you have restarted the shield with the tv and avr off?

Did you try rebooting?

Edit: or maybe your tv is just 720p [emoji6]
Hi.
I think it's related to that topic: Nvidia Shield setted to 4K resolution, Kodi setted to 1920 x 1080 resolution, when I go to play a 4K (or 4K HDR) movie, Kodi will not go to autoswitch resolution from 1920x1080 to 3840 × 2160...

The 4K movie (or the 4K HDR movie) will play at 1920 x 1080 resolution....
Using kodi-20180128-f0944787-master-arm64-v8a.
@mo123 I'll need a 20180124 to compare. Strange modes returned in 20180127:

Hi

In my case it's a RK3229 Nougat tv box, not a Shield.
Yes, framebuffer, resolution is set to 720p and used a 1080p tv.
But I see users with Nvidia Shields also have problems now with auto frame-rate switching in the latest nightlies so it effects everyone with Nougat(possible earlier OS versions too).

Somewhere between 24-28 Jan 2018 the auto frame-rate broke.
Using kodi-20180124-4130255f-master-armeabi-v7a or earlier or SPMC 17, auto frame-rate is working correctly for 1080p and 4K(on a different 4K tv).
I'll try to test 25, 26, 27 Jan ARM nightly too, maybe it can help to pinpoint between which commits the problem started.
Will post a log later where everything is working.
Any version before 20180127-e1e969b, the auto frame-rate switching is working, so it is broken after version kodi-20180127-4798f3e1

Log of 20180127-4798f3e, frame-rate switching working

Also strange that it doesn't show the 1080p modes of my 1080p tv, only the 720p ones in the log.
Issue confirmed also on Nvidia Shield
Refresh rate switching problems also reported by LibreELEC RPi users since the 27 Jan build - all ok with 26 Jan.
On the Fire TV 2 it is not working since end of December 2017.
Problem seems to be solved in the most recent nightly build.
Thanks!
Thread marked solved.
On the Fire TV 2 it is still not working. But perhaps that is an issue of the Fire TV 2?

Broken by intention from those that sold it to you ...
