Our Android maintainer has to decide if we degrade kodi's general performance for _all_ Android devices out there - I simply don't care at all.
this can only be really fixed by sony in their firmware
edit: the more apps provide ugly workarounds, the less sony will fix it
To top it, it seems Sony also block Kodi from being installed on certain devices.
So please all start complaining to Sony

Yup looks like we're blocked on. 2017/18 models now. Funny when they used to have us suggested for third party add-on usage.
We could add the name to our own Kodi blacklist making it light up in log files and the forum posts, and consequently support will be stopped...

It is not necessary to degrade kodi's general performance for _all_ Android devices. I'm sure there is a way to detect the hardware signature, either by "Sony" or Mediatek. So it will be an if else situation.
Should make it an Ads for everyone to see before they purchase Sony.
