Full Version: TMDB getting 401 and 403 errors

I am running Kodi 16.1 with TMDV version 4.0.2.  I know I'm on old versions, I hate updating things!  I just wanted to see if I could fix this as is or if an update would even help.  It also mentions cache problems, but seems like the connection issues are causing the cache issue, not creating it.  Here is my log, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @juju

When it comes to scrapers, it is very important that you always use the latest versions. There have been major changes with them over the last few months, with more to come. Always update the scrapers!!

You should be using v4.1.3 for Jarvis. If your hardware allows you to, you should update to Kodi v17.6
Ah, I just looked at your log...

The forum moderators have determined that Banned_addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time.
I looked at the blacklist and see which ones you're talking about.  No big deal, I haven't even used those add-ons for years.  They don't even work anymore.  I'll remove the offenders and be back.  I'll also check on what updates I can apply while I'm looking at that.
Okay, offending add-ons are deleted.

I have verified that I cannot upgrade Kodi right now.  I am on Mac 10.7.5, the latest Kodi I can get is ver. 16.  Maybe there is a later release than 16.1, but not sure that will help.  The latest TMDB version I see available is the one I'm on.  Since I can't upgrade, do you see anything else in there I an try?

Thank again!

I just looked into the Kodi Add-On Repository, and I see the newer version of TMDB.  I tried to update it and it says it's incompatible.  Maybe because I am only on 16.1?  Scratch that... I see now that 16.1 is the latest Jarvis release.  So something else is causing it to be incompatible.  Is there any way to find out what is making the incompatibility?
Hi juju

I see from your log that you are still using v4.0.2 of the scraper. That won't work. There is nothing wrong with your system, from what I can see, except for the wrong version scraper. Once you update that, it should all work again.

Go to Add-ons>My Add-ons then pull out the left sidebalde menu... https://kodi.wiki/view/Basic_controls#Sideblade_Menu

In that menu you will see Update Repository. Click on that and let it update. All going well you should receive notices of add-ons being updated, including TMDB. That is assuming you have Updates enabled in your add-ons. If not, go into the TMDB add-on and manually select Update.

Just in case, Enable debug mode again, restart Kodi and then try the above. At least if it doesn't work for you for some reason, you can post the log.

Not sure what the incompatible issue is. What version does it say you have in the repository? If it is anything higher than 4.1.3 then there is something wrong with your system. I see you still have left over crud from the banned add-ons, (1Channel) and it may be messing about with your system.
There was no update repository, but I did see an update button.  It says it's updated.  Kodi Add-On Repository says it's version 2.4.9, no update is showing available.  Since you mentioned a version 4.x.x, am I way out of date on my repo?  Should Jarvis have a 4.x.x update available?

I just looked through log and I see the crud you're talking about.  I've uninstalled everything, not sure why that is still there.  I'll look more closely at it.  I guess I can completely uninstall and rebuild everything if I have to, but I really, really don't want to do that.
Try downloading zip file and installing

1. metadata.common.themoviedb.org- http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/met...-3.1.2.zip

2. metadata.themoviedb.org - http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/met...-4.1.3.zip

All Jarvis add-on downloads... http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/
Well, I installed TMDB via zip from your links and it solved the scraping problem.  I did not install "all Jarvis add-ons" yet.  There's a lot there!  Since only my current symptom is solved, I think rather than installing everything manually to put a band-aid on it, I ought to just reinstall Jarvis.  Better yet, I might just go ahead and update my OS to fix a few other issues I'm having with unrelated software compatibility.  After updating OS, I will reinstall Kodi with the latest version and hope everything works better.

One question... If I end up having to do a clean install of Kodi, rather than an update, is there any way to retain my "date added" in my library?  I tend to use date added as my sort method and know my library pretty well in that order.  A new install of Kodi wiping that out will be disappointing.  I haven't searched this question yet, just figured you might know if it's a common issue.

Thanks so much for your assistance with this, I'm very happy to have Kodi back up and running as it was before!
Sorry, no. That All Jarvis add-on was just for your reference. In case you have trouble downloading any other add-ons through the repository that are out of date, you can use that link to direct download the zip file. Just download what you need, not all of it. Smile

Have a read of the Import-Export wiki page to learn how to transfer your library across. Link is in My Signature below. It will also describe how to retain, play counts, resume points etc...

For the Date Added, there is a advancedsettings.xml setting that can let you adjust which date is used for date added... https://kodi.wiki/view/AdvancedSettings....deolibrary

Hope that helps.
Oh, I can export and import a database with the data I need?  Yes, that is very helpful, thanks again!  I probably knew this once before, but when it's years in between updates and changes, it's very hard to remember even basic things like this. I certainly appreciate your time and help.
Thread marked solved.
Hi i have the same problem but the link can't be found http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/met...-3.1.2.zip
can you update the link?
@tillzor

Yes, that link is out of date. This thread is over a year old. The following are the links to the folder, not the zip file, so they will remain current even if the versions change.

This is the Jarvis Repository ... http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/
In case you have problems with add-ons, download the zip files from there.

The following is a list of the default video scrapers...

metadata.themoviedb.org... http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/met...viedb.org/
metadata.tvshows.themoviedb.org... http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/met...viedb.org/

TVDB video scraper if you are still using it.
metadata.tvdb.com... http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/jarvis/metadata.tvdb.com/

Download the zip files and install.
