Since I updated from the asciidisco version to the (superior in my view) castagnait version of this addon about a month ago, I get a standard email from Netflix warning of a 'new sign-in to Netflix' every time I start up Kodi (or every time I start/reboot my HTPC - Windows 10 with Kodi launching automatically).  I'm wondering if there's something different in the castagnait version that might randomise the IP address sent to Netflix, or some other ID that isn't constant but which triggers Netflix to think it's a log-in from a new device?

It doesn't hinder the operation of the addon or stability of my Netflix account, but it is a... mildly annoying... daily-if-not-more-frequent occurrence.

Does anyone else have the same experience?  Does anyone know why this might be occurring?  (NB: I don't use a VPN and I don't receive such emails when accessing Netflix via other means/apps/devices that are on the same machine and/or connect through the same home network to the Internet).

I have the same issue. No idea why or when exactly it started.

Hello all!

I have a PI with Kodi and Netflix, but the non Netflix content only runs at 540P. Any solution?

Netflix settings, expert tab, active the option Enable IPC over HTTP.

I think will solve your timeout in Signal Add-on.

I'm having the same problem (addon Signals call time out) over and over again. It's driving me crazy!

Tried enabling IPC over HTTP and it made things even worse (Netflix addon wont start at all with this option enabled)

I've already tried literally everything, including a hard reset on CoreELEC to make sure there weren't any old files messing with the system, with no success at all.

Also, for some reason, the "logfile uploader" addon isn't working here (error: unable to retrieve paste url), so I can't even post my log file here.

Please, I would really really really appreciate some help here.

Thank you in advance,

M.

I'm getting a mix of standard and high definition with the add-on running CoreELEC.  I think it just depends on how Netflix serves up the movies and how the add-on deals with them on its particular platform.

I was wrong - it IS platform specific.  Apparently content owners (Disney et al.) will restrict Netflix's streaming quality to SD on certain platforms (Kodi, certain web browsers).  For Solo/Antman and the Wasp 1080P you will need Edge/IE 10, Windows 10 official Netflix App and possibly other hardware platforms.

In short, it's a DRM issue.

https://github.com/asciidisco/plugin.vid...issues/184

Good to know. This is terrible. Kinda doesn't incentivize me trying to support legit streaming via Kodi. At least for certain companies like Disney. I mean... resctricting it to even below 720p which is nowhere near top of the line these days and is considered SD by some...

Anyway...

I have another problem with the Nettflix addon that I keep on forgetting to bring up but is rather annoying. It constantly forgets my credentials particularly if I reboot my NUC.

I upgraded OpenELEC to 9.1 and I upgraded from Kodi Leia 18.1 to 18.3 recently. Someone said they thought I was using Kodi 17 but that was wrong. It of course didn't help the aforementioned DRM issue and it didn't help the credentials issue and it seems to have broken HD audio formats for me to my A/V receiver.

I kinda blame the latter problems on the old TV I'm stuck with though as it seems to cause audio issues. I'm upgrading to a new 4kTV for my birthday (tomorrow) though so hopefully that helps with the audio stuff.

I have had this happen, but it hasn't happened for a while. Sorry that's not particularly helpful, but it may be a periodic thing that Netflix does under certain conditions.
Disney's on the blacklist now.

Why would you want to though?
Just use the app, it's more reliable, faster, easier to use and offers trouble free HDR and 4k. I think this add-on is more for boxes that can't run the proper Netflix app.
