I have had this problem for a few weeks not and cant fix it,I have my movies on wd my cloud and want to stream them over Kodi on my shield tv,this all worked fine up untill a few weeks ago, every movie times out after around 20 minutes,I have tried streaming from my PC to Kodi on my shield and the exact same thing happens,so it's not my cloud that's the problem it's either my router or Kodi it's self.
I have tried my videos on my external hdd and they are fine,
also I am connecting to my cloud over SMB.
Any suggestions ?

Sounds like a Sleep issue with your WD NAS. Have a look here...

It can't be because it does the same thing when I play a movie from my pc to the shield and I have turned the sleep on my cloud.

You most likely have a network issue, somewhere between your Shield and router probably, you need to fix it there.

At the least you need to post a Debug log (wiki).
