I'm running the June 22 nightly version of Kodi 18 on a Shield TV.  I have a 4K UHD TV connected to the Shield.
I have several refresh rates available up to 60Hz when I select 3840x2160p resolution.  But the highest refresh rate available for 1920x1080p is 30Hz.  And there are no resolutions below 1920x1080p available.  And there is nothing above 30Hz for 1920x1080p in the whitelist, nor are there any resolutions below 1920x1080p in the whitelist.
I've installed several nightly versions with the same results.
Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it is?
Is there a way to add additional resolutions to the whitelist?
I mainly watch 720p/1080i OTA recordings but my goal is to pass as much content in it's native format to the TV as I can.
Thanks
Giving this a bump.  Is there something I can do to get a resolution of 1920x1080p at 60Hz in the whitelist?  I understand there won't be an option of 1920x1080i at 60Hz.
How about a 760p resolution option?
Thanks
Hello,

I have the same problem with 24hz resolution..
Did you fix your problem and if yes how?

Thanks a lot in advance,
BR
No, I haven't found a fix for this problem.  I've upgraded to Oreo and the latest nightly and it is still missing.
However, I do have 24hz options at both 1080p and 2160p.  And I know my TV supports 1080p at 60hz.
Actually, I'm probably looking for 59.94hz since that's what Kodi says the Codec is.
Do you have a whitelist option for 1080p at 60hz?
How about 760p at 60hz?
Thanks
To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Always use a paste site like pastebin.com. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
1080p at 60 may not be available if your Shield's color space is set to rec 2020 and not 709. Take a look at your Shield's display settings.
Logfile posted at https://paste.kodi.tv/azogomuyob

Also, I have an audio issue where AC3 audio is no longer being passed through HDMI to my TV.  It now passes PCM unless I enable AC3 transcoding which causes audio/video sync issues.  Should I post that issue in another thread?

Thanks

I left my Shield at the recommended display settings which is rec 709 (I checked).
Thanks
hello,

Here is the log debug.

What is strange is that I can see that the 24hz resolution is found..
But nothing in the whitelist choice or in the refresh rate choice ...

Also, I don't understand how the display whitelist is supposed to work.  I've searched but didn't find an explanation.

Is the whitelist supposed to let resolutions in the whitelist be passed in their native format but display files in other resolutions at the settings in the Resolution and Refresh rate fields?

Or are the Resolution and Refresh rate fields for the maximum capability of the display?

Or are the Resolution and Refresh rate fields forced to the display (then I really don't understand the whitelist)?

Thanks
I don't know if this helps troubleshooting but I have two options for 3840x2160 in the Resolution setting that appears to have the same resolution options.
The whitelist sets the available output resolutions used, so if you wanted everything sent as 2160p you'd only select those modes. If wanted files sent as their native resolution then you'd select additional modes for each resolution you wanted sent. Note it has to be an exact match otherwise it will fallback to using the desktop resolution where there is one or the Kodi GUI resolution.

Indeed 1920x1080p24 is reported as an available mode. Could you post a screenshot of your whitelist.
hello,

Thanks for your reply.
You can find 2 screenshot showing the white list and the refresh rate :

Thanks, that is how I was hoping it would work.

Your comment about it being an exact match raises a question.  My understanding is Kodi doesn't pass interlaced resolutions but converts them to progressive.  So if I want to pass a 1080i OTA recording natively I would need a whitelist entry for 1920x1080p 59.94Hz, correct?

And for 760p I'd need 1280x760p 59.94Hz?

Thanks
