Sorry i tried "search" but i didn't really find anything. How to update Kodi without for example losing my library?

Simple, install the new kodi over the existing installation

The latest stable version of Kodi is 17.6, if you're adventurious and want to update beyond that, copy out the complete Kodi folder in your roaming folder Userdata (wiki) to a safe spot. Install overtop and if all is jake you're smiling. If the installation doesn't go as planned; delete this new Kodi romaing folder and the installation folder (in other words everything) , re-install 17.6 ensure it's operability, shutdown, copy your backed up complete Kodi 17.6 roaming into it's orginal location overwrtiing the 17.6 installation version and it will be back to square one on launch.
