Hi,

I am getting an error installing TVHeadEnd on my LibreElec Kodi install, which is part of a VMWare Player mount. I am getting an error that it cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:9982. This is not the IP address given for my install in Kodi however. I am not sure what to do in order to correct the problem. I do not have the option to configure the install before installing it in Kodi. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks
9982 is the port used for HTSP by Tvheadend by default. LibreELEC in the past has had problems with connecting to local Tvheadend servers if the network is not immediately available at startup.

Can you give additional information, as there really aren't many details/specifics in your post. For instance, you haven't mentioned where you are receiving this error ...
Apologies. It is during attempted installation of the TVHeadEnd. The log links can be found here:

Screenshots of the kodi.log file..? Really?

Try getting a decent file manager like X-Plore File Manager and copy the contents to a proper pastebin website.

Sorry, I had a brainfart. If you run LibreELEC, there is an option to upload the Kodi.log file and other files internally via the Settings Addon in the System tab, way down below.
LE's repository has pre-built TVH server addons. You just need to install from LE's repo from within Kodi and then configure.

However, if you're doing anyhing beyond just plug-and-play appliance type situation, then I recommend moving away from LE and choosing a real OS to install your server into.
An alternative under LE is to install the docker add-on, and then the LinuxServer.io repo (available via the LE repo).

In there you will find a container with the current TVH server, which is a newer version than the stable one in the LE repo add-on. Or alternatively you can of course just use your own from Docker Hub or any other suitable source.
the issue I have I now believe is that the .ova file i have installed into VMWare only has a tiny amount of memory allocated to it, both in terms of RAM and on the file system by default. you can resize the RAM using the virtual machine settings, but resizing the partitions on the file system requires either remoting on to the VM or creating my own .ova file, neither of which I have any experience with really...
got fed up with libreelec in the end and just installed tvheadend from the official repo via the command line on an ubuntu build. have successfully connected to the server via the firefox web browser...just got to figure out how to configure the server now!
