Full Version: Video playback keeps stopping

I am having problems with video playback using Kodi 17.6 on my Minix U9-H (running Android 7). I am playing back a variety of different codecs from a LAN share on my Windows network. The files are in a folder which has been set up as an SMB source in Kodi. The problem is that, after maybe 15-20 minutes of playback, the playback stops and I get returned to the Kodi UI. If I restart playback it will then stop again within 1-2 minutes, and then continually stop every 1-2 minutes after that. If I reboot the Minix box the problem goes away - i.e. I can watch the same video through to the end with no more interruptions - but comes back a few days later.
If I play the same video files using the built-in video player (selecting the files on the SMB share using ES File Explorer) there is no problem - files play back from beginning to end.
Any idea why Kodi keeps halting playback on these files?
To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file.

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Thanks for the advice. So I turned debugging on and (of course) the video played from beginning to end without interruption (despite not having rebooted). I shall leave it switched on and wait for a recurrence...
The problem has just recurred so I turned on debug logging, let the problem occur again (which it did), then turned off debugging and tried to find the log inĀ Archive
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp/
TheĀ /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files folder is completely empty, however (e.g. no ./kodi subfolder). Any idea why it's not creating the log file? I'm sure it was debugging as I saw the debug overlay text at the top of the display while Kodi was running.
The .kodi folder is hidden (it's what the . means at the start of the name) - you may have to turn on viewing hidden files/folders in whatever app you're using to see them.

It is certainly there, as that's the folder where Kodi stores all of its settings and parameters, plus all its add-ons.
Thanks. I've pasted the relevant extract from log here:

TIA for any clues as to why this (and most other videos) stop playing back.
