if the PC which the Backend is installed (and running) on, is off, and therefore cant be reached, Kodi crash.

Could be a problem with the mediaportal add-on as this works with other add-ons. Hard to tell without a stack trace of the crash.
You should ask in the respective forum section or open a Github ticket for the add-on.
