I'm having an issue with XBMC when i attempt to add a share from one of my external hard disks. Instead of seeing the root folder as it shows it in my finder, I get a bunch of folders which sound like some other filesystem (usr, private, lib, etc).

How can I get to the files that are there usually?

This external HD is an old powerbook running in target disk mode.

Do you see a Volumes folder? If so, try it....

no volumes folder, i get:
private
sbin
tmp
usr
var

no other folders or any of the folders i see in my finder.
