Kodi Community Forum - Kodi on TV stutters with 4K 60fps

I installed Kodi on my new Philips TV and everything is working correctly instead 4K 60fps movie clips. They are stuttering really bad. 4K 30fps plays without stutter. Same situation with stuttering is with 1080p60 clips. 1080p50 plays fine.
4K 60fps which is playing from USB on TV player plays without problem, so I am conluding that Kodi has some problems with playing 4k 60fps. I am in Europe and using PAL signal but it shouldn't be cause of the problem. Resolution options in Kodi are 1920x1080 50fps and they are greyed out, so it cannot be changed.

Update: I tried to play 4K 60fps H.265 (HEVC) and it plays smoothly in Kodi. 4K 60fps H.264 stutters for both 4K and 1080p60. Is there any problem with 60fps playback in Kodi for H.264?

No. There is no problem in kodi. The problem is your Philips TV.

The same problem appears playing 4K 60fps clips on Kodi from H96 Pro+ Media Player and it was tested on 2 different TVs. So, I am concluding it is really problem with Kodi.

Provide full MediaInfo details of your stuttering video files. Do those h264 files also have 10bit coloring?

It is 8bit coloring. MX Player plays those files just fine. I don't know why Kodi doesn't.

So, no hope for resolving this situation. It seems that I should put all my hopes to Kodi version 18.

You can start by installing v18 already and see if that improves it as there's no reason to stick to v17
