Hello all,

My hardware RF remote control recently died... It was a remote control with keyboard and motion sensing control (https://www.cloudmedia.com/?product=air-mouse). It was fine, but fragile and I had to remap key bindings to make it perfectly compatible with kodi.

Now I want to buy a new one. I'm looking for the best hardware remote control for Kodi and windows. Which remote control do you use ? Are you happy with it ?

Thank you for all answers.
I use this device which can emulate a full keyboard for the most refined control in Kodi.

If you have an existing remote you can program the flirc using the remote.

I currently use a Logitech Harmony One (Discontinued) and a Companion: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/h...on?crid=60
Umm, don't use Windows (Ubuntu 16.04) but my remote is my amp remote, mapped via lirc (on the dvr position) to control Kodi.  Possibly something similar is available on Windows (dunno) but the way I have it set up means that I can control my amp, TV and Kodi with just the one remote.

TV & Amp are both Pioneer so the facility to control both via the one amp remote was always there.  I just mapped the controls in the amp's DVR position to control Kodi. So, pressing 'DVR' on the remote switches the amp to Kodi's audio input, switches the TV to Kodi's video input and means the direction controls on the amp, OK, menu, etc work Kodi.

Other remotes on other machines I have are an MCE remote on an 'appliance-like' minimal ubuntu 16.04 install on a machine in my bedroom and Kore on my phone for the other two machines (and also the main rig and bedroom machine).

Oh, amp remote and bedroom machine are both IR, Kore works over the local network.  A basic IR receiver/remote (such as for an Rpi) can be had for around £10.  Kore is free.
...They don't make these anymore so I've picked up a few spares to store for future needs/replacements. Smile

I use Dish 20.1's. Good size for my hands.

My ipad with Official Kodi Remote running on it.
My remotes are Logitech Harmony 900 with RF system.
To control my nvidia shields I have a Flirc attached to each of them, Living-room and Bed-room.
I'm using the remote that came with my Onkyo AVR, the rubber sheet has worn out the audio up & down, anyone have a good conductive solution to renew the pad?

 This kind of thing ?
My favourite is the simple but very good OSMC remote control
I use an MX3 remote for both instances of Kodi here, with buttons that can learn means that I have one remote to operate the two home theatre systems. I have labelled them as it has been known for the remotes to wander.... usually via me!

Yes that will do, but it looks like a $30 item, while a new remote or universal might be cheaper.
I have a big o’pile of remotes, let me pick my two favourites:

Really love this remote and so few buttons to map Wink

This one i picked for the comfortable TV buttons when using PVR. Bit it uses ir which means aiming. It has some remote schemes for different tv vendors, so i have it control certain tv functions as well. Dumped the shipped tv remote.

Now also works (almost) ootb on *elec
