I have a message at the top of my screen that has LOG MEM and CPU info and I don't know how it got on there and can't figure out how to get rid of it. Can someone please help me. Thanks.

It seems you somehow have enabled Kodi's debugging.

Go to the Settings/System/Logging/Debug section, and switch off "Enable debug logging".
