Hello, I'm trying to stream videos over the Internet from the Diskstation to a Fire TV Stick with Kodi.
Unfortunately, the movies load very slowly and buffer continuously.

My setup:
FritzBox 6490 Cable
Diskstation 216play (Should even be able to transcode 4k)
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4k with Kodi
(DS Video does not work either and buffers continuously)
Internet speed: 400Mbit Download, 50Mbit Upload
File sizes between 2GB and 15GB tested. No matter if 720p, 1080p,...
The results are the same.
Kodi is connected via FTP to the disk station.

Is there tweaks or an idea how I can finally stream ?
The upload speed should be enough.
perhaps you should look into running Plex or Emby on the synology.
Thanks for your answer. I already tried Plex. It is buffering always just like everything else. Therefore I wanted to test the whole thing with Kodi. I just can't explain what it is.
I imagine it's a limitation of wireless. try hardwired to be sure
