Hello everyone.

I upgraded to 18rc1 from 17.6 a couple of days ago and all things upgraded pretty smoothly. However, I yesterday realised I could not connect to my dlna server at all. This is what comes up as an error in the log
Code:
15:20:20.589 T:140267119440320   ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(upnp://4d696e69-444c-164e-9d41-00d0b7906b75/2/) failed
which simply says it could not connect to my dlna server and nothing more.

Since I have the dlna server as a source for video files, I tried removing and readding it. Then I came accross this

Notice that there is no option for upnp/dlna devices at all! Then I selected add network location > upnp server > and hit browse. Then kodi stopped here

and nothing happened. At the same time, the log was saying
Code:
16:56.339 T:139945710526912   ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting upnp://
16:56:22.339 T:139945710526912   ERROR: CGUIDialogFileBrowser::GetDirectory(upnp://) failed

Is anyone experiencing a similar issue? If not, then I am obviously missing a library that would make that upnp connection happen. If yes, please tell me and I will open a proper issue report on kodi's github to have it seen by more people and possibly getting a fix.

Debian testing x64 and kodi 18rc1 on one end (dlna/upnp client), debian unstable x32 and minidlna 1.2.1 on the other end (dlna/upnp server).
The dlna server is visible and working flawlessly on my rpi zero with libreelec 8.2.5 and kodi 17.6.
Plus, when adding a dlna/upnp server as source, my smart tv's unused dlna server also shows up on the kodi 17.6 but not on kodi 18rc1.
Found it! I had to enable upnp support in settings > services > upnp/dlna > enable upnp/dlna support.
