I just registered to this forum, since I have the same problem!

The stutter fix helped with the stutter. But I Have another problem:

Every 30-60 seconds Kodi shows the error "Error: unable to send image to hyperion..."
And the amblight stops. After a short time it reconnects.

hyperiond log: removed
Problem seems to be with the docker bridge.
If i start the hyperion docker in the host network, the disconnects disappear.

still there is minor flashi happening with the fix.

@hasenbolle have you already tried final 18? I assume that there is still this issue since I can not see in the changelogs that this has been fixed?
I still have some minor flickering with hasenbolles fix.
But for me it seems this is not a problem of the plugin but of kodi.

I noticed that I sometimes I have microstutters on most of my media. If I activate Hyperion, the flickering will only appear while the playback has these microsstutters.
So to me it seems that there are some extra frames generated by kodi. If kodi would do the playback correctly, the normal plugin should work fine.
Maybee it is possible to build latest final18 without this commit https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/12776 and try out if this is the cause of flickering?
@Milhouse  do you thing it is possible or. will other things break?
Try an updated kodi nightly. Depending on your OpenGL version occlusion queries should work again.
I tried it with the nightly from yesterday. This still had the microstutter/flicker.

I will try again today in the evening with the newest nightly.

Yes, but the issue is still present using #0131. I will try the latest nightly tonight.

I've tried the the build before commit 12776 was introduced, which worked perfectly with hyperion.

I don't have microstutters with the workaround implemeted in the plugin. do you use the debug version or this one: https://github.com/hasenbolle/hyperion.k...workaround ?
The debug version saves a lot of images on your hdd, which could cause your microstutters.
I think fritsch was talking about this commit https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/15351 this one ia already in nightly since https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2817452
Flickering can be mostly seen when deinterlacing is enabled.
It would be nice if we could test the build without commit 12776 so we will be sure that this one is the root of the flickering.

The microstutters are independent of hyperion. I also have them when hyperion is not activated.
But I noticed that hyperion starts to flicker at the same time these microstutters happen.
Yes I use the mentioned fix.
I have to report that the standard kodi hyperion addon (1.0.2) is working fine again with the latest nightly.

It works with the youtube plugin and with local files.
But it is still flickering with the amazon VOD plugin.
Hmmm. And which commit should do the trick? I do not see anything related to this issue being fixed. Form my experiences when i was doing extended tests, I have noticed that some video blinks more than other and mostly fickers when deinterlanced.
A very good test to see if it is fixed is to use modified addon that saves pictures on the disk and look inside, if there are any strange pictures. https://github.com/hasenbolle/hyperion.kodi
And I really doubt that it will not blink on videos but it will on VOD.
Hi are here some news of the flickering behavior?
I'm using the the lastest stable of kodi 18.1 with on an lubuntu 16.04 system with the version 1.0.2 of hyperion.kodi. The flickering is more or less it depends on choosen deinterlace method. The input comes from TVheadend plugin. But also when playing local videos hyperion is flickering.
