Hello,

Have tested all builds up to RC2 on Mac Mojave  Win 10 as well as the latest alpha 9 on Libre elec.
It seems to me that the remote control via json is dead. I might be missing something obvious but it seems so.
The official iOS app also appears not to work.
I would suspect this is a known issue, as many people is using the remote protocol I am sure...?
Is this slated for some love in RC3 maybe?
I'm using Yatse and Kore on my Android devices to control Kodi since ages and I never found a Kodi version where this is not supported. Have you enabled the webserver in Kodi? As that's mandatory for the use of remote apps.
Thanks for reply DaVu, appreciated.
Yes, also a kodi user that has used json extensively in my own remotes (iRule) for a very long time.
The web server and the webgui works as before in Leia. just not the json commands. Many thanks.
Are you yourself using JSON succesfully in Leia if I may ask?
Things changed a bit for Leia - see this thread (and indeed other posts in that section) for more details.

Thanks Darren, was not aware of those changes. I'll dive into that then Wink
Just returning to mention for others looking for a solution for this, that it started working after some excellent advice from here:

The trick with iRule for at least me was to drop the encoding and use a network gateway rather than http.
Along with some cleverly doctored fixes in that thread it works great. FWIW, YMMV
Good luck.
