<drum roll> ... after another long gestation... the Kodi team is very pleased to announce the immediate availability of Kodi 18.0 "Leia" for all supported platforms!
While we were planning to move more to a "release early, release often" model, this has some significant changes that really needed to be tested and bedded in before we launched it, so it did take a little longer than we'd hoped. It was, though, a worthwhile wait :)

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic news! GREAT!!! Thanks to all who made that possible!
By the way... I like the new startup options, even if it’s only a little change. Now my Kodi starts playing livetv automatically and if I press the back button once I see my channels directly.
I also like the livetv progress bar, which shows the timeshift buffer now. I also like the drm functionality, and so on, and so on...
Yay!!!!!!
Now just waiting for LibreELEC release

The ovens have been busy with baking the different releases, internal testing is taking place as we speak. Give it a few more days.
We can only thank everyone involved, you guys are fantastic

As I thought, although all the Alpha and beta releases have been solid, great work guys!!
I was ready to send debug logs during testing.... didn’t need to lol
I'm having difficulty upgrading to version 18 on raspbian on my raspberry pi. I tried:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
But I'm still stuck on version 17.6
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Thank you for great work…

Is an update to the
skins page also in the oven? I was under the impression it was automated. Either way, it does not reflect the reality of what is, or isn't, available for leia. And what's up with those dups?

AFAIK, for some reason the dups are created from Krypton and Leia versions.
I saw there were currently 'only' 8 skins to download from the Leia repository in Kodi. So lots of skinners haven't updated their code/skins yet. Once that happens, the skins page script will automagically add them.
