kodi 18 just shuts down and must restart
Same file on kodi 17.6 plays just fine.
Not sure if I want to try 18.1 as had some issues with playback of music videos with that one..

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

An update the mpg VOB files play fine on 17.6 and 18.1 (not on 18.0) so that is no longer a problem.
The thing with 18.1 is it has difficulty playing my music videos they are all mkv with AVC and AC3, these videos (1500+) have all been standardize with ffmpeg, The videos all play continually on 17.6 and 18.0 but randomly stop audio (18.1) when starting a new video. Fast forward and the next one plays fine then a few videos later same thing.

So long story, back to 17.6 as it plays the VOB and mkv files fine every time..

Can't do a log as I only have one box and I like to watch TV etc..

There is a problem with 18.x so keep up the good work, and I am looking forward to 18.2/
