How does one install Kodi 17 on Android/Chromebook, when the current Play Store version is Kodi 18 (Leia)? And how does one then lock the version so as not to automatically upgrade it to Leia before it becomes stable?

Download v17 from here.
Move the .apk to your device and install it.
Make sure auto-update is not enabled for kodi in the play store settings.
