Full Version: KODI 18.1 Sleeping (wake on keyboard, not remote) on Xubuntu 18.04

Problem: When I was previously running KODI 17.x the screen would dim after a few minutes. Pressing a button on the media centre remote would wake KODI up. After upgrading to 18.1 the screen would go completely to sleep and couldn't be woken by pressing buttons on the remote control, but would wake up if I pressed buttons on a keyboard.

Solution: KODI seems to have turned off the screensaver during the upgrade from 17.x to 18.1. I'm speculating here, but something else (perhaps Xubuntu/Ubuntu power management) takes over if KODI's screensaver isn't in place. The solution that worked for me in this instance is just to turn the screensaver back on:

System > Interface > Screensaver

Screen mode > Dim
Wait time > 3 mins
