I'm having issues with speed on my Android TV box (Mi Box) with my PVR backend as TVHeadend. SD plays fine, 720p struggles a little, but 1080p is just a slideshow. Running the HDHomeRun Android app shows the channels perfectly at full speed. Going through the Plex app works fine as well. So it seems to be a Kodi issue not a WiFi issue. But running Kodi on my laptop it works fine with the same setup.
I'm thinking it's a deinterlacing thing on ARM or something?
I'm using a program called Antennas (https://github.com/TheJF/antennas) so that Plex and TVHeadend can talk to each other, and it works great. Is there someway to make that work with Kodi? Or is there another PVR add-on I can use that supports TVHeadend with pass instead of htsp? I can't use the HDHomeRun PVR add-on since I have mutiple HDHRs, (that's why I'm using TVHeadend to begin with).
