Kodi Community Forum - Subtitles not displaying in MKV

I'm playing an MKV file but not getting subtitles....playing back on a firetv stick. Is this an issue?

Internal or external subs? SRT, SSA, some other type?

Sorry my mistake. They are internal to the mkv file. Playing the video in vlc shows them.

I can name some other media players as well, that is not the point.

So what type of subtitles are they? Our crystal ball is out of service during weekends.
An Exiftool report or a MediaInfo summary of your video file would also help more.
