Full Version: Trouble With Special Episodes / OVAs

Kodi's giving me a bit of a headache with how it handles the "special" episodes of certain anime series. Current example is Re:ZERO; It scrapes all of the special episodes fine (all metadata shows up) but it orders them between the normal episodes of the show (Episode 01, Special 01, Episode 02, Special 02, etc...) and this is a huge pain when actually trying to watch the show. Normally it categorizes them as their own "season" which is separate from the show, but sometimes it won't and it will bunch them all into one with the order varying depending on the show, and I've even had it put special episodes in a separate folder AND in with other seasons. I've made certain to try all of the ordering settings and check my naming format with TVDB. Specials are in a separate folder named "specials" and each special is named "S00E___" according to its episode number listed on TVDB. Kinda at the end of my rope here after scouring the internet for fixes, none of which have worked and my last resort is editing NFO files if I absolutely have to and am sure it will fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated, and I'll add screenshots or post more information if I need to.
@Faetalistic

That is expected behaviour.

Thanks for the information & links, but I'm still confused about a few things they don't address in the threads you mentioned; Why is it that it isn't creating a separate folder for the special episodes? The episodes are listed under the "specials" category on TVDB as well as TheMovieDB, I've scraped using both of them. TVDB lists the normal episodes in an alternating order with the specials regardless of ordering settings, and TheMovieDB lists them in order before the regular episodes (which I wasn't aware was normal, seems odd) but never creates a separate folder for them even though kodi recognizes them as specials. Is that still expected behavior or is there a reason for it? I have all of my shows placed in organized folder structures by /show/season/episode, is there a simple way to force kodi to follow my folder structure over what it scrapes from the internet?

I don't know. It should. Provide the following...
1. Screenshot of where you think there should be separate folders
2. Links to the tv show at the scraper sites.
3. Debug Log which captures you scraping the tv show, even if that means you have to delete it from the library first.

As stated in that link I gave you, that is expected and a result of the information at TVDB NOT kodi. Please read that thread again if you did not understand that fact. But, as you haven't provided the links to the show (or any information) as asked in here... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=336969, I cannot check.

Why is it odd. Where do you expect the Specials to be?
