Full Version: Wrangling fan edits and non-conformant "editions"

Does anyone have suggestions for how to deal with the following situations?
  1. Official releases with non-conformant "edition" names. Example: "XYZ Final Cut"
  2. Fan edit. Example: XYZ Alternative Edition Redux. XYZ Anti-Cheese Edit.
  3. Multiple fan edits for a single movie. Examples: XYZ Revisited Purist Edition. XYZ Despecialized Edition.

Wrangling fan edits is the ultimate reason why I'm going beyond Kodi's built-in library scraping/management features in the first place.
IIRC v2 already allows you to enter user defined editions..
v3 definitely has this feature on board..

looks like you could help yourself by using custom editions

Seems like there are a lot of improvements coming in v3. I opened a bug asking for Laserdisc source support, and learned that it was already implemented for v3.

I don't really want to use an unstable build though. I guess I'll just stick with changing the movie title post-scrape for now, and maybe revisit when v3 is officially released (whenever that is).
