I am running Kodi 18.1 binary download on my MacOS with no issues. When I download 18.2 release and run, it always complains that the download is corrupt and cannot start. Anyone else has this issue. How can I debug.

MacOS 10.14.5

Exact message when double clicking the new download in a popup:

"Kodi.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
Firefox downloaded this file on 1 June 2019 from ftp2.nluug.nl

Needless to say I have downloaded various time, rebooted with same result. The download does happen from different mirrors.
I can launch it from the command line like this:

# /usr/bin/env /Applications/Kodi.app/Content/MacOS/Kodi

But not by double clicking. On the same system double clicking 18.1 app works. Any Mac or Python Wizard can advise what could be happening. PYTHONPATH issues?
I have seen this before with recent versions of macOS.

EclecticLight has an article about it and also provides an app called xattred to help you fix.

See how you go.
