Full Version: Android boxes and memorysize 0

Hello all,

I'm playing a little advancedsettings.xml and I have a question regarding the memorysize option.
Reading through the wiki it states that setting memorysize to 0 "will likely cause increased wear-and-tear on your drive".
Is it advisable to set this to 0 on android boxes like Nvidia Shield TV (16GB) and other generic "Chinese" boxes (16GB+)?

For example I have an Nvidia Shield TV and I set memorysize to arround 330MB. Since the device has 3GB of ram I don't think that this will affect the performance.
Xiaomi's Mi Box on the other only has 2GB of ram. So setting memmorysize to 330MB might cause problems (since kodi will require 3x330MB to be free).
Xiaomi's Mi Box however has low storage as well (8GB).
What's a suitable configuration in order to increase buffering/caching with such devices (2GB ram/8GB storage)?

Thank you!!
