Full Version: IPTV stream buffering on one specific Windows installation only

Hello,

I have Kodi v17.6 installed on a windows 10 PC, v18.3 on an android Google Nexus 10, and v17.3 on an old windows 7 laptop, and v17.3 on a second Windows 7 PC.

The problem I have is that, using TVheadend HTSP Client  to watch IPTV channels, all the HD channels on the second PC will buffer constantly for a while then the stream will be jumping and/or the image will scramble etc, while the very same channels on all other installations work perfectly fine!
The specs of the PC with the problem is the following:

Windows 7 64bit
Intel i5 750
16GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD6950
SSD

All the settings in Kodi exactly match those on the windows7 laptop, which has no problems with these HD channels.
I have tried installing v18.3, with the same result, the only difference is that it will be constantly buffering there, while on 17.3 it's buffering for a while and then the steam will just be breaking up, slipping etc.

Would anyone have an idea what might be the problem? The only 'major' difference in specs really is in the graphics, as the problematic PC has an AMD GPU, while the other pc and the laptop have Nvidia.

Thanks
Update: Turns out the only reason it worked on the Win7 laptop was that the screen layout for the secondary display (HDTV) was set to 'duplicate' with the resolution of 1366x768.... if that's changed to 'extended' with resolution of 1920x1080, then the same buffering problems appear as on the  Win7 PC.
At this point the problem is there on the two Windows 7 systems. Win10 and Android are fine.
Think you'll need to get a debug log (wiki) to progress with this.

It's line 1158 where I switch to one of the HD channels and the problem starts.
@yonder - you've got an orphaned script from a banned addon (wiki) in there:

16:23:54.064 T:6596 DEBUG: ADDON: cpluff: 'Plug-in script.areswizard has been installed.'

it is strongly suggested that you go to C:\Users\Zoli\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons in Windows Explorer and remove the folder containing that script (don't have Kodi running when you do it).

Okay, I've removed that now, do I need to generate a new log file? Thanks

Thanks for looking into this for me.

Any ideas?

Problems seem to start with this error message:
ERROR: ffmpeg[17CC]: [h264] hardware accelerator failed to decode picture
