Full Version: Replacing Internal Hard Drive

Hi,
New to Kodi, using it purely as a media system to play ripped DVDs from internal storage. Recently got my set-up how I like it, with meta-data scraped appropriately. However I now need to replace a hard drive as my storage is running low. Can I move the data off my present drive and put it back onto my onto my new drive once it is installed with the same location letter, without losing meta data?
Thanks in advance.
you may need to export video library

this may also eork by changing the drve to the same drive letter
Kodi metadata is stored in its libraries, and media files are linked to their full paths. So replacing the harddrive should be no problem as long as drive letter (Windows) or drive device (Linux, iOS) are totally identical afterwards. Doing a Video Library Export beforehand won't hurt, see it as a metadata backup.
