I'm running LibreElec and did a smooth upgrade. Everything more or less appeared.  I have everything synced in MySQL, and I also have path redirection in advancedsettings.xml

I went to do a library clean up, and it prompted me about what to do for all my media in sources which were gone. I checked and none of my sources are listed. I can go through and rebuild, but I was hoping to keep all my played settings, etc

As LibreELEC currently provides Kodi 18.2 and for the reason path substiuting the sources.xml was broken in the past (including Kodi 18.2) you need at least Kodi 18.3 to path-substitute the sources.xml.

So you have 2 choices now. Depending on your hardware, you can either try one of the Milhouse nightly builds (which are very close to actual Kodi Master branch and issues have to be expected) or you try one of the LibreELEC Alpha builds 9.1.002 from here: https://libreelec.tv/downloads_new/

If you don't want to use them, then you simply can't use path substitution for the sources.xml. See the red note here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Path_substitution
