Unfortunately, at the end of a TV show I got a dialog saying 'Playback failed - One or more item failed to play. Check Kodi Log'.
Let me know if you want that log or for me to recreate with a new programme.

Couple of other issues I spotted last night. When using Kod's LiveTV Group manager, I was able to delete one of my TV Groups and rename another, which both worked fine afterwards. However, these changes are not retained when you exit and re-start Kodi. Not sure if that's an issue with the PTVL addon or the IPTV client?
I never tested grouping as it's handled by PTVL... Not sure both can coexist. I'll look into it.
@Lunatixz  will it be eventually be possible to select an episode thats in the future in the guide and start playback from there? The original Pseudo TV was able to do that and I find I use it all the time to skip episodes Im not interested in watching.

Thanks for making this available!

It's already possible to play a single item, please read feature list in release thread for details: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=355549

Down the road I'll add an option to start channel playback from a select position.
@Lunatixz  I'm having the same issue I think as others in that one program will play for the channel and then it will stop and go back to the epg or I get the dialog saying the item failed to play.  I was looking at the pseudotv.m3u file and it has what I see the channels that I created and the plugin links. Is this by design? I'm not familiar with plugins.  Just remembering the old pseudotv m3u and how they were populated.  Please don't get mad Smile .   Also, what does the rebuild pvr and force pvr functions do exactly?  I did test the other two dealing with the m3u/xmltv files and they worked.   Thanks.  earlieb
Just updated Kodi today, and updated PseudoTV to 0.1.0i. Immediately I am getting a startup error from PseudoTV saying “PseudoTV Live error check the log for more information”. The error log for today is below. I also tested 3 of my Shields last night with version 0.1.0h and can report the static after an episode has finished has been fixed, but it still returns to the home screen without proceeding to the next episode.

0.1.0i Log - https://paste.kodi.tv/nesawepona

PseudoTV Live 0.1.0i
Nvidia Shield 8.0.2 (32.5.205.105)
Kodi Matrix 20200706-c34a99a9-master-arm64-v8a (7/7/2020)
I'm getting an error message on startup.  Log: https://paste.kodi.tv/ayekaziwod.kodi

Testing is on Ubuntu-Mate 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) 64-bit with Kernel Linux 5.7.0-7.1-liquorix-amd64 x86_64. I am using the Daily release from the PPA.  It's on a Lenovo Thinkpad x250 with an Intel® Core™ i7-5600U CPU and 8 GB of RAM.  PseudoTV Live 0.1.0i

EDIT: Completely missed other post, disregard please.  Am attempting to start over and follow instructions in other thread.  Sorry for the noise.

UPDATE: I was successful once I started fresh and then created several channels.
Hi, I just found out that the beta is finally released and I'm going to check it out tommorow. There is a thing that I always wanted to see in Pseudo TV - channel rule that let you create scheduled blocks - it could work like Advanced Channel Scheduling but instead of planning a number of episodes played at a certain time you would choose a time interval in which the channel you set will be played. Thanks for your work @Lunatixz and let us know if we can donate your work somewhere!
Good morning! I updated to 0.1.0j played a channel and at the end of the tv show I am receiving a different message than before. It says, “Playback Failed - One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.” Worth noting, when I selected the network channel it showed in the guide it was suppose to end in approximately 5 minutes, but when I started watching the channel the show ended within 30 seconds. Could this be the reasoning for the error? maybe Kodi’s guide is conflicting with the videos compiled by PseudoTV Live?

Other Issues
* After deselecting TV Shows from Predefined Channels and adding a network channel I did the following
- Cleared PVR & Live TV guide data
- Rebuilt M3U/XMLTV and Rebuilt PVR
- Restarted Kodi
After returning back to TV - Guide, I noticed the TV shows were still listed in the guide even though they were removed.

* Another issue is when selecting a tv show from the guide it shows the following error under writer for all tv shows selected, example is from A&E below.

THX for the log I will review... However, PLEASE do not use the utilities unless instructed to Smile they were not designed to be used heavily or when adding new channels Smile

They are there for debugging only Smile

PseudoTV live should add and update without ever opening those options.

If you want the cleanest platform to test on:
Quit Kodi, delete EPG.db, PTVL m3u, xmltv and genre files. Start Kodi and let it build your channels.

If you wish to start without channels; delete. Settings.xml
Hello,

I was also having the crash problem last night, but the new version "j" fixed it. I will have to test if I'm having the ending show bug.

But right now I noticed that the "writer" metadata inside the xmltv file is incorrect and, when opening the info dialog Kodi EPG show lots of "codes" instead of the correct write info.

Here's my log file: https://pastebin.com/hpWuHXAa

Here's the xmltv file: https://pastebin.com/aUa30Zg7

I can open a issue on github if you think it's better for tracking.

Thanks a lot for resealing PseudoTv. It's a great plugin.

The 'writer' key is being repurposed for PTVL; it won't in the near future contain valid "writer" meta. In an upcoming release v.0.2.0 I added code to "hide" the data from view. This release won't be until I fix this playback issue some users are having.
Thanks for the info. In fact I don't think anyone cares for the "writer" metadata so hiding those "codes" in the future will be just fine.

Trying to track down the "media stopped bug" I made a clean kodi install and instead of using the folder path "E:\Something" (I'm on Windows 10) I setup a smb file share and scrapped my library using network paths "smb://Something".

On this new setup I found out that I can't get "TV Shows" channels if using network smb paths on my library. Those channels are just blank on .m3u or xmltv, although the files are playing just fine on Kodi Video Player. Movies aren't affected and still work as before.

Here are the logs, generated when trying to create just "TV Shows" channels (by Studio and specific show): https://pastebin.com/S3TC3vh4
I"m spotting three issues with playback... all of them unique.

1: Shared Password protection: All Kodi media should automatically negotiate your "saved" user:password that already grants you access from Kodi to your network. Twice on my end I've seen otherwise...

2. Kodis PVR will update meta (ie EPG shows info); however, Kodis JSONRPC is not finding the updated meta and is either returning old or empty meta.

3. IPTV simples M3U file (update) detection is treated a little differently then I expected...

Please test subversion "m" Issues 2/3 might have been fixed... looking good on my end!
I see that I'm on subversion m and my channels went from one episode to the next. Success!
thank you. earlieb
