I've been hearing about an update to PulseAudio that now allows DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD to be used in passthrough.  Has anyone tested this in Kodi? 

If this also gives Atmos support, then maybe we won't need to use Pasuspender and ALSA to get proper passthrough anymore.

It's not implemented upstream. In fact - they just announced it but it's not working properly. I have the kodi bits ready already to support DTS-HD, TrueHD - but without PA implementing these properly, no chance for us.

If you can build PA yourself and add my patche, you can at least do DTS-HD-HR other than that, not there yet.
