On Kodi playback (18.4), I get quarter-second hiccups in audio about every 5-10 seconds. It's mild enough that I can watch the video, but still noticeable and sometimes irritating. Playing through VLC directly, I don't get these pauses. Should I consider this to be audio stuttering and start my troubleshooting and searches for that or is it most likely something else?

You did not enable debug mode, nor replicate the problem to be captured by the log. There is nothing to see in the log.
