I'm on Windows 7, and have a Hauppauge Tuner and Mohu antenna for "Over the Air" capture.  We only watch live tv every couple months or so, or when the Olympics are on, so I prefer a free EPG (ZAP2EPG, ZAP2XML or mc2xml?) even if it's low quality.

I'm looking for a stable, long term solution which includes an EPG.  I thought I'd go with TVHeadend because it seems the most popular, but now I'm confused about whether it works with Windows?  Most of the guides are a couple of years out of date at best and geared towards Linux.

The other one everyone seems to gravitate towards is IPTV Simple Client, but does it not handle OTA? THe wiki seemed to indicate it doesn't...

Ok.  I installed NextPVR. That went ok. I even has a built-in EPG which works well enough (at least for me in N America). However, integrating it with Kodi has been a PITA.  Here's a question: Where's the PAUSE button!?  The spacebar doesn't work.  I tried messing around with the "Keymap Editor" addon, but I couldn't get it to work at all.  I got lost in a massive and seemingly redundant menu tree and none of my changes seemed to do anything.   I'm resigning myself to just using NextPVR as a standalone.

EDIT: I just notice that the old howtogeek article above has added instructions about time shifting which AREN'T IN THE OFFICIAL WIKI INSTRUCTIONS! https://kodi.wiki/view/NextPVR
