Hi There.
First thanks for the great work you guys are doing for keeping this Plugin working!

I have a strange problem while watching youtube videos using Kodi on a Rasppi.
When the video has a longer section with no motion in it (a static image like a text screen in a lets play) the video seems to freeze or plays with a very low frame rate.
It goes back to normal frame rate like 5 to 8 seconds after the static image is over.
Any idea what might cause it?
When I try to open comments I get an error about insufficient permissions Huh

Would need a complete debug log (wiki)
Anxdpanic,
Here is the log.
Thanks
@zhanglini - unfortunately you also seem to want to watch free movies of the illegally sourced kind, which is against our piracy policy (wiki). You have several banned addons (wiki) installed, which is against the forum rules (wiki) that you accepted and agreed to abide by when you signed up here. Please actually go and read them, and if you want any help or support here clean up your device and get rid of all of the junk that's on that list which you have installed (listed in orange in the addon list in your log).

The forum moderators have determined that banned addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time.

ok I cleaned it up, here is the new log https://paste.kodi.tv/ugoxewoxeb.kodi
@zhanglini

You still have a few banned addons (wiki) as highlighted in orange in your log.
No support can be provided unless the system is free of those.

Some of those modules are banned. You only have one video addon so it would be easier to just do a fresh start.
Hi anxdpanic and other Contributors !

Coming back to Kodi after a while to have installed v6.8.0, after reading that v6.7 fixed the API problem 😊

Well, I am using the same old YouTube API creds from last year, shown as Enabled under Google dev console, and have checked the numbers.

Still, when I press Popular right now I get the familiar YouTube: accessNot Configured window asking me to get API keys ! More info: ytaddon.page.link/keys.

In YouTube settings, I have disabled Sign In under Folders, hoping to not have to sign in my YouTube account, but never got to this Sign In stage, if necessary...

Please help ! 🤔

Hi there,

Having ongoing issues with this add-on.
Have setup new keys following the directions.
I deleted the old keys from api_keys.json file and deleted the api_keys.json~ file.
New keys into api_keys.json, save, restart kodi.
when I go to google.com/devices the first auth works then message saying 'need to create keys'
when I try to play something on YT 'keys expired'
go check - old keys are in again?

Do I have to delete the access_manager_backup.json~ and empty the settings in access_manager_backup.json files?
Somehow the app is re-populating my (old/expired/deleted) key settings?

I'm not sure how to post up logs?

Rasp Pi3b, Kodi version 18.6, YT add-on 6.8.0
Big relief !

Got a new API key which works fine on both v6.7.0 and the new v 6.8.0 (beta?) No need for Sign in to the YouTube account too 😁

So apparently, the API from last year is "old": maybe the rumor about expiry after 6 month no-use is correct, even though the G dev console shows this as active.

Or maybe this is a YouTube Kodi thing?

So I deleted the whole project on Google, went through the whole process creating a new one with new API key etc. and I'm still not able to access the comments due to a 'not sufficient permissions error'.
Funnily enough I can access them when I'm not logged in...
Is there a special setting on Google that has to be set for this new comment feature to work?
