@wgstarks
Looks like you're getting 403 errors a bit into playback, not sure what is causing that, will have to look into it more. I double checked and let the stream play for 3+ minutes in Kodi 17 and 18 and it played without issue.
It may be due to playing from 'My Channel'. If you want to confirm this you can 'Switch User' from the add-on main menu, create a new user that isn't logged in, search for the stream, and try watching it from there.

External player should be working now with Sep-09+ Leia nightlies.
Hi,

the signature function not found issue is fixed in 6.1.4 and 6.2.0~alpha6

I've updated post #2 with versions that fix the signature not found issue.
Works perfect now, Thanks for the speedy fix!
@anxdpanic after last suggestion by you i have enabled the Mpeg DASH but i have choose to not use for "normal" video......... however it happens sometimes that this thing does not work and for some video i have also need to enable the dash for see it. it's normal ? It's possible some video it's be published only as dash support ?

The next time i try to post and example link.....
A few post before the same was reported and kindly enough the author already has the fix in 6.1.4. See post #2 for the latest stable (6.1.4) version.
I had the same problem and the fix resolved.
BIG THANKS!

(It is meant as an answer to #902.)

Yes, it does!
Thanks for your great work! Using youtube plugin almost every day.
Ah thanks. did a manual upgrade and reboot, now everything. works. cheers.
I've been using version 5.5.0~alpha17 for quite some time now on Helix and had no issues. I was also using it on Jarvis up to yesterday but it seems like it has all stoppped now. I even upgraded to the latest version from the repo., as well as the unofficial version but when I press play, it just says "Opening Stream", then I get the error message "One or more items failed to play". Only YouTube LIVE works for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I managed to get this running on Helix after installing manually. However, I can't play any videos that "include copyright content" on my channel. Was this always like that? If I can play it on my Win PC, then why won't I be able to access them through this YT plugin?

Thanks,

Shedrock
@shedrock YouTube has changed their javascript for deciphering signatures which has broken many videos. The add-on is no longer being developed for Helix, and has been marked broken in the helix official repository. The issue is resolved in the Isengard+ version(6.1.4).

That's unfortunate. Well, I do have it working, but only the videos that are marked "Includes Copyright content" do't work. It's no biggie, I'll just stream it from the original channel. Thanks for your response.

@anxdpanic

With the latest dev release I got error messages (signature function not found) on two videos from channels I did not have any issues before, here is the log file for that

Screw that, sorry. I was using the dev version without realizing that the production version has already been updated. You work too fast for my eyes Big Grin
Last week I upgraded from a previous version of Kodi to Kodi 18 Leia (also upgraded to OS to Ubuntu 18.04) and while I did not have any problems using the addon to watch videos, the one thing that isn't right is the watched flag.  Strangely it shows all the videos I watched prior to upgrading as watched, but any new videos I watch will not display the watched indicator, even if I try to manually "mark as watched" and I don't understand why.  I do NOT log into YouTube but I never have done so in the past, and it always worked.  I do have my own API key but even before I entered that in I observed the same behavior.  Is this a known issue and if so is there any fix for it?
Sadly there is no fix for this at the moment apart from building Kodi for yourself. But there is a trac ticket and as it seems finally someone is lookin into it. It's the only thing keeping me from using Leia.

 Thank you for this information.  I really hope this will be fixed soon.  I would go back to Krypton but unfortunately I had some video playback issues in Krypton that were resolved by moving to Leia, so for me it's either video tearing on certain sources on no watched flag on streamed videos, and of those two the video tearing is the more annoying, but not by much!
Hi,
I'm trying to watch some purchased movies, but I have no luck with setting the addon up. I have inputstream.adaptive 2.2.27.0 installed, mpeg-dash is turned on. What am I doing wrong?
