this happens when playing 10bit hevc video.
The contast
This only happens with kodi and with my graphic card gtx1050ti on the other hand with MPC it works.
With the intel 630graphic and internal hdmi port motherboard it works properly.
this problem and piercing.
no matter the kodi settings, no matter the screen or even the screen settings.
on the other hand has identical regalge it works with MPC.
I am under windows 10 but the problem is the same under ubuntu 20.04.
there is someone to answer?
It's not a bug. You're trying to display an HDR (High Dynamic Range) movie on a SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) display. It's actually not displayed correctly in MPC either, it's completely desaturated.

You need a renderer that can map HDR to SDR, for example MadVR, or stick to SDR movies.

HDR is still a work-in-progress for Kodi. And I doubt that Ubuntu will ever display it correctly as long as VDPAU drivers are used. Nvidia can't even do 10-bit normal video in Linux with VDPAU. You could try MPV to use Nvidia's newer NVDEC decoder.
