I have multiple videos hosted on an HTTP server. the server has a 1 Gbps symmetric connection. if I try to download a file from the said server (using a multi-threaded/connection download manager) I can easily saturate my internet connection (50 Mbps). however, if I try to stream a file directly from the server using Kodi I usually get around 5-7 Mbps. already tried playing with the cache/network setting in the advancedsettings.xml file but nothing really helped.

Might have something to do with the protocols used, NFS (wiki) should be good. File sharing (wiki)
