I’m playing with my shiny new raspberry pi 4 8gig with the new 64 bit raspbian (now raspberry pi os). Installing Kodi fails. Anybody get it to run on 64 bit raspberry pi OS yet?

There is no 64-bit release of Kodi yet as far as I know.
But you will have to ask the Raspberry Pi people for this (and not us), because they do their own Kodi packaging and compiling for their OS.
8 GB is nice, but don't expect any big jumps in performance. The engine of the RPi 4B is still the same.
