Hi,
I have a big music library, and after playing a few songs from the "Songs" category, kodi becomes sluggish, and won't do certain things, like running external python scripts, after exiting the playback.
the kodi process cpu% jumps from a normal 30-40% while playing to 120%, and stays there even after stopping playback.
it only happens when playing songs from the "Songs" category - I can play songs from the Albums/Artists category and nothing will happen.
my music library is hosted on a SMB server, and my songs are played in random mode all the time.
took a debug log when this happens - restarted kodi, went on to play 2 songs and the problem occurred straight away:

is there a known issue related to this? what is the cause of it?

Since you are using CoreELEC and you are experiencing a system-specific problem (afaict), I suggest you contact CoreELEC's own support forum with all the details of this issue.
