Hello,

Issue: I am not getting an ip address on Kodi when i start the Minix box.

I've recently had to change router. It's the same model but newer. Unfortunately i didn't think of giving the same ip address to my NAS. I tried to refresh my library, and it added all video files again. I configured the ip address for my NAS on the router to what it was. I changed the sources for my NAS on Kodi. I refreshed the sources. I tried to Clean my library but it kept trying to wake up the old ip address. I updated to Leia, but the issue remained. I removed Kodi completely and did a clean install, but the issue remains.

When i close Kodi with the shutting down button on the main menu, it comes back to Kodi with an ip address and starts my NAS automatically.

Can anyone help me trying to get an ip address when i turn on the box?

Thanks
Nothing? I don't see any point in complicating the post.

I turn on the box, Kodi doesn't show an ip address and is completely useless.

I remove the ethernet cable from the box and by magic Kodi gets an ip address.

I turn the box off, and we're back with the same issue.

A clean install doesn't resolve the problem.
Test 1: Using XBMC launcher
I start the Minix box, it goes straight to Kodi. I check information settings in Kodi. Results: No ip address.
I go into Minix settings. I check Network settings. Results: There is an ip address.

Test 2: Without using XBMC launcher
I start the Minix box, it goes into the Android main screen, i launch Kodi manually. I check information settings in Kodi. Results: There is an ip address.

I guess the issue is with XBMC launcher...

I'll try to delete it and install it again.
I installed an update to XBMC launcher. The issue remains. No ip address when the box starts. I only get an ip address if i shut down Kodi or launch it manually.

Does anyone have a clue what is going wrong?
Bumping your own thread within 12 hours is a bit .. enthusiastic. This is not a 24/7 commercial service/help desk.

Have a little patience, grasshopper.

Not without a debug log (wiki), no.
Sorry guys. Lost it a little after one meaningless change screwed the whole setup to the point i started everything over and it's still not resolved.

Here's the log link:

Here are the steps:
- Start Android box
- Goes straight into Kodi with XBMC launcher > No ip address
- I quit Kodi, and re-launch it > triggers WOL for the NAS and has an ip address
Right, here's a proper log without me quitting Kodi and re-launching, which i suppose erases previous log without hostname...

I've decided to stop using XBMC launcher. You may close this thread as my enthusiasm died along the way.

Thanks!
Thread marked solved.

Issue not solved.

Tested latest XBMC Launcher with Krypton. No issues, that is, Host gets an ip address.
Tested latest XBMC Launcher with Leia. Host doesn't get an ip address.

Either Kodi needs updating, or XBMC.
Are you using this third party app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...r&hl=en_US

Looks like your issue has already been reported to the app developer, it's really nothing that will be updated by Team Kodi. Suggest you raise your issue with the developer of this app directly.

Try starting Kodi without this 'XBMC Launcher'.
If Kodi gets its IP address, then it's not our problem.
The problem will be that XBMC Launcher does not wait for the network to be ready before launching Kodi.

I tried using the GooglePlay download (link you attached) and the third party download (https://apkpure.com/launcher-for-xbmc%E2...mclauncher), which seem to be the same application. I'll try it up with whomever is taking care of Launcher for XBMC. Thank you
