I hunted around but didn't see this anywhere else that I could find. Just recently, after putting the Shield to sleep, turning off the TV+AVR, and then turning everything back on, Kodi is in the background and has "forgotten" all positions within the file browser (behaving exactly like it would if I had manually closed Kodi). Prior to this, whenever the Shield would wake up, Kodi would be right where I left it (foreground), and always remember the position within all folders. It seems like some logic is controlling this "minimize Kodi at sleep" (though in the past if I put it in the background, it would still remember all positions), but I really do not know of any change that would have caused this. Any help is much appreciated.
